A section wide Simulated Emergency Test (SET) will be held on Saturday, October 5. It is meant to include served agency, county, district and section level components. We would like to test a "top down-bottom up" response in the section. Likely duration 2-3 hours.
Details will be upcoming.

Dear Club President or County EC or ADEC,

Attached are the details for the October 5th 2013 Simulated Emergency Test (SET).  I would like to have as large of a turn out (activity) as possible from our district.  Please try to make contact with any county served agencies to allow us inside their facilities to operate or give us a designated area if it is a shelter location.  We do have the National Weather Service, the Red Cross and State EOC on board with this SET.  Let me emphasize that while it will be interesting to see which counties bring their A game, the main idea is to see how well each county does, get a base line number (score) so we can improve and better serve the public moving forward.

I have tried to leave a lot of options for each of you to gather a bunch of points.  Get members active and try some esoteric forms of communications.  Put together a few pieces of both formal and tactical traffic to send to your served agencies, the NWS, NYS EOC or the Red Cross chapter houses.  Get your ops active on APRS.

If nothing else, and they are willing send them to a location where communications may be marginal from a vehicle so we can get a handle on repeater coverages.

Feel free to ask me any questions.
