Hello to All,

Well I know you all just can’t get enough of these club meetings . . . and neither can I . . . but if you recall, at our last meeting it was pointed out (quite astutely, I might add) by NY2MC that Monday May 26 is Memorial Day, so our May meeting will be this coming Monday, May 19, 2014 at 7:00pm at our regular location (Uno Chicago Grill on Rt 9 in Queensbury across the street from Walmart just north of Exit 19 of I-87).  And if that’s not enough directions, I am sure one or more of us will be listening on the Prospect repeater and can talk you in to the parking lot if needed.

It should be a good meeting and we have a bunch of things to discuss regarding our Field Day plans and license exam plans, etc.

I am hoping the weather will be good . . . just because we all know how everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it.  And . . . wouldn’t it be great if we all had jobs where we could be wrong more than half the time but not get fired for it . . . y’know, like the weather forecasters . . .

Besides, we generally get better meeting attendance when the weather is good . . . and I know this month’s presenter will be really happy if the weather is good and the turnout is also good.

So . . . who, you may ask, is this month’s presenter and what, you may ask, is their topic . . .

OK, OK, OK, so this month’s presentation is about weather observation, weather & amateur radio, weather instrumentation, weather reporting, weather history, weather trivia, weather forecasting and the Capital District Weather Net . . . and, astonishingly enough, the presenter will be me (but, truly, I am NOT trying to gain fame through this huge buildup that you all just had to read).

It seems somewhat appropriate to have a weather presentation now since we are coming into the heart of the severe weather season and coming right up on the hurricane season, too where our Skywarn training and our ARES and RACES abilities might be needed

Please bring any weather-related questions you would like to ask and I’ll do my best to answer them or to find the answers for you.  The more unusual the questions the more fun we will have.

Hope to see you all on Monday.
