The date is Saturday January 10 2015 at the Warren County Sheriffs Office training room (click here for map and directions). The Doors will open at 8:30AM for registration and the exam will begin promptly at 9AM and will run until Noon. There will be signs directing you where to go in the building to the training room.
If you have an interest in electronics or radio, Weather, Disaster/Emergency Response, if you're looking for a new hobby or volunteer opportunities, or just want to be prepared for the event you don't have cellular service we welcome you to join the Ham Radio community. When all else fails there's amateur radio.
The test is multiple choice and there is no longer any morse code requirement. You can take one element and if you pass you can take the next level up for free.
Technician: 35 Questions, 26 is a passing score
General: 35 Questions, 26 is a passing score
Amateur Extra: 50 Questions, 37 is a passing score
Bring ID, #2 Pencil, Pen, and exam fee ($15.00, cash only, please have exact change). It is strongly suggested that unlicensed examinees register with the FCC ULS database before the test to receive a FCC Registration Number (FRN) which will be used in place of Social Security Number on exam forms and will expedite the receipt of licenses. If you already have a FRN do not create another one as this leads to confusion and delayed receipt of license.
Also please send an email to W2WCR@arrl.net letting us know you will be attending the exam so we can make sure we have enough testing materials for everyone
This is an excellent online adaptive study program
